As to flayed ones and stealth, I don't know why people are arguing about this, makes about as much sense as space marines in bright blue armour infiltrating, or striking scorpions blending in on a city street or in the snow.

At least flayed ones have the fluff excuse of being teleported into position underground where they proceed to crawl out and act all scary.

left off the not. Meaning that they are not mutually exclusive. The stealth and the skin are not related.

Anyway, the flaying occurs after the stealthing. They sneak into a forward position, murder the **** out of an enemy and leave the skinless corpses, then when the rest of the necron unite and the battle starts the flayed ones are wearing the skin of the fallen enemy in order to demoralize the remaining troops.

yeah, I agree actually. It does make a much sense as infiltrating Marines.

Hogleg I figured you left on the "Not" I'm just messing with you.

If the Flayed ones were a tunnel unit that popped up from the ground, sure. But the models don't look like that. They look like Leatherface gone all Silence of the Lambs. There Fluff would be better if they were just that and not also "forward scouts" -- this is a case of Rules =/= looks.

Also, flayed ones were one of the least used necron units, right up there with paraihs. and I haven't seen a necron army in action since last year. It will be nice to finally get to see them on the board again.

Yeah wraiths did everything flayed ones did, but so much better. I loved wraiths.

I wish I wouldn't have dumped some of my old necron models. Like my wraiths, they are rumors that they are resculpting them, and I like the old ass ones despite their tenuous connection to their base. Two units modeled differently would be hot.

I always thought Flayed Ones hid amongst other corpses to ambush, and that's why they wore the skins.
