    Didn't know their stupid fluff.
yep. Flayed ones were/are suppose to be the Infiltrating/stealth unit. Someone correct me please if I'm wrong, but That's how I remember them being used. The few games I actually saw them used in...back when the codex was new...I think I was still in High school. Geez.

Edit: I just pulled this up -- http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Flayed_Ones

yep. They were the "Infiltrate/scout unit" cause ya know, Someone wearing Corp. Johnson like a slasher movie villian is gonna be sneaky and I'm not going to shoot them as soon as I see them...Riiiiiiight.

Less techno Egyptian than a floating pyramid... right.

And Flayed ones aren't supposed to be disguised, they are shock troops. They skin corpses and wear the flesh to affect enemy morale. They even had a special rule about them called terrifying visage. That was the old fluff. I don't think they'll depart from them that much.

Yeah, they could infiltrate and deepstrike and move through cover, but not because the fluff said they were wearing someone's skin as a disguise, they were adept at sneaking and moving silently through cover then leaping upon the enemy and flaying their skin and leaving skinned corpses in their wake.

Being stealthy and wearing someone's skin doesn't work though. This isn't an '80s slasher film.

Look, I'm just saying from a Fluff stand point, and from what I remember, Flayed ones make no goddamn sense...to me anyways. I get they were suppose to be scary, that makes sense. I get they were suppose to be sneaky and the forward assault troops -- but that doesn't make any sense.

Fluff wise they are suppose to skin their victims alive and wear their skin and then "sneak" up to the enemy lines and scare them. How do shiny metal guys sneak and then quietly scare everyone. that does not make sense. Quietly kill a unit, wear their skin and then sneak up to the front and pop-up and assault. That does not make sense!

If chewbacca wanna live on endor with a bunch of Ewoks, that does not make sense!

All joking aside, I still think they look like crap and were a terrible unit with questionalble fluff. I hope they get the rule of cool applied to them, although, they already missed the mark with the skin-wearing thing.

The wearing of the skin and the stealth are *not* mutually exclusive. That's the thing. You're trying to equate the things.

A statistical term used to describe a situation where the occurrence of one event is not influenced or caused by another event. In addition, it is impossible for mutually exclusive events to occur at the same time.
Right, thus you cannot be stealthy and wear the skin...and those models still look like crap.
