Welcome, guys! At the Austin Dragon's Lair, the WM/H crowd plays mainly on Wednesday nights, and the 40k-ers are there on Thursdays. There are often people at both who are willing to help you learn, just ask.

Scott is good peeps. I've known him over 30 years, and he is one of the few people who has seen me paint a mini, from start to finish....drunk!

    Welcome to CenTexWar, bro.

Still getting settled in, but looking to get a game in at DL
I've played just about everthing since 1985, but mainly 40K and FoW now, and really starting to look at Dropzone Commander.

Hello, my name is Cory and I am an old war gamer, from warzone(mutant chronicles), everything GW(fantasy, 40k necromunda, gorka morka, etc.) and quite a few other war games/board games of old. I have been out of the hobby all together for a little over a year which is when I moved to the Austin (Wells Branch Pkwy area). I used to game with the same people at the same store for a long time and the thought of trying to make new friends is daunting, but the fact I miss playing games with people is even worse. I want to get into warmachine/hordes and will more then likely make it down to Dragons Lair Austin the Wednesday of 5/22/13. I would love to watch people play some games and meet everyone. I will probly be shy and not say much, but from what I have read lurking here you all seem like a great bunch.

I have owned some khador and cryx models for about 2 1/2 years now but have never played warmachine (though I did buy all the MK.1 books and Prime mk.2), and have found myself not being interested in either faction, haha. I am looking to start my main faction with Convergence of Cyriss even after reading about how they will be a "limited" release faction. I am also interested in Cygnar a bit because I like the "shootyness" of the faction, though I notice a lot of the factions have some type of shooting or other. I certainly am interested in other miniature games/board games too, and the only place I have heard to go is Dragons Lair. I have also played many RPG systems and generally have had this type of stuff as a hobby for a long time.

    Thanks for reading,
If you have any questions about me let me know, it would be nice to have some friends to talk gaming with since I don't keep up with many people from Florida (where I moved from) as much as I would like.

P.S. As a side note, if anyone is going to Lock and Load this year I would be willing to overpay you if you would pick up the Convergence of Cyriss book for me so I can start planning, haha .

    Cory,

Welcome! We have a lot of Transplants from Florida including myself that live in Austin now. We do have a strong community in warmachine/Hordes. I think the best people to reach out to you would be Cody he is one of the Priveteer press gangmembers and also the Ben's. They can help you understand or give you some teaching games if you want.

All I can say is don't be shy, we are are a welcoming group and like to include all

After reading this I have decided that the movie "Pineaple Express" should redo one of its quotes from:

"But if you do something heroic then you'll come back as like an eagle or a dragon, or Jude Law."

    To:

"But if you do something heroic then you'll come back as like an eagle or a dragon, or Nick Rose."

WHB(rats) and 40K(SM) but haven't play much in the last couple of years. Looking to try Infinity.
Just moved to Austin from Denver and it looks like DL is the place to go for games. Any place for Infinity?
