Looking for someone to teach me to play x-wing tomorrow night. Have double firesprays, will probably pick up the core set tomorrow so that I have some templates/dice/damage/whatever. I'm assuming any sort of imperial plays against rebellion only rule gets tossed out the window by practically everyone, so I don't really need any rebel ships?
I've got weekly stuff I do on thursdays, but should be at Dragon's Lair sometime around 8.
I'll be there, probably around 6 and would be happy to run you through a few demo games. Yes, you just need Imperials (and you can play Imperial vs. Imperial or Rebel vs. Rebel-- that happens all the time in tournaments).
The core will give you two TIEs and with your two Firesprays you should have plenty of options at 100 point lists, but for demos might just use two TIEs or 1 FS.

Salubrious, thanks for playing last night. All my careful maneuvering to get the rear arc isn't so effective against the Firespray. Next time: missiles!
Yeah, I have a feeling I'm going to need to pick up some TIEs and play with them a bit. The butt gun feels like having it would become a maneuvering crutch way too quickly. Is there any real way to get some of the shield/engine upgrade cards without having to buy a YT-1300? I'm ok with buying new ships to get cards, I just really don't want to be buying cross faction stuff.
And thanks for teaching me. Maybe next time I won't get so lucky and keep blasting ships out of the sky in single attacks. (And halfway through game 2 I got ready to fire my missiles, only to realize I'd accidentally grabbed the AoE one instead of the heat seeking one. Not so useful when the opponent only has one ship left).
I call that effective community building.
