    Kings of War Event Info

    Kings of War Event info

All lists will be 2000 points unless specified otherwise beforehand. Any list may include allies via the rules in the main brb (25% of total forces, no evil with good)

In addition, we will use the “Chess Clock” Rules. Each player is allotted a total time of 1 hour. During their turn this clock counts down until their turn ends and their opponent begins (and their clock begins counting down). This continues until the game ends or you run out of time.

If you run out of time and the game is not over you have 3 options:

1: You may immediately end your turn with no penalty. If your opponent still has one or more turns remaining they may take their turns as normal. If they have more than one turn remaining they skip your turn and proceed as normal. If your opponent also runs out of time the game ends as normal.

2: You may Concede the game for a Major loss and any objectives you have currently achieved.

3: You may continue to take turns as normal until either the game ends or your opponent runs out of time, for every 5 minutes of additional time you take you lose 1 Battle Point. You may extend your allotted time up to a total of 20 minutes and no more (for a total -4 battle points)

If you have any questions regarding anything at all, feel free to send me a PM or email me at [email protected]

    Scoring System For Battles

16 points for achieving a major victory (difference of more than 1000 points in your favor)
13 points for achieving a minor victory (difference of between 201 to 1000 points in your favor)
10 points for achieving a draw (difference of less than 200 points between players)
7 points for suffering a minor loss (difference of between 1000 to 201 points in your opponents favor)
4 points for suffering major loss (difference of more than 1000 points in your opponents favor)

In addition, You can obtain up to 4 points for completing various objectives for each mission.

All Judge rulings are final, if you want a second option on a ruling you may ask for one, however the judges ruling is final after this second opinion.

    Hobby Challenge

Players (and Judge) will vote over lunch for which army they feel was the best representation of that months aspect of the hobby (it could be painting, conversions, theme, fluffy lists, so on). They may vote for themselves if they like. The most votes wins the Hobby Challenge.

    Prize Support

The top two Battle Scores and the winner of the Hobby Challenge will win prizes. In addition, 1 extra prize will be given out by the judge at random for any reason he sees fit, each person may only win 1 prize.

This all sounds pretty awesome. I assume if you use extra time you can go negative? Like a major loss with over 20 mins more than your clock? I know that's extremely unlikely in any case, but im curious

Ill cap it at Zero. The idea is more of a gamble for a close to draw game or that extra time to claim 2 objectives, not to recover from a devastating loss.

And it's subject to change if players find a way to abuse it.

Sounds like a good system. I'm assuming their is still objectives? Do we just keep time on our phones then?

Objectives are there (another good catch)

for right now, unless someone wants to donate Chess-clocks, Sand-glasses, Timers, Stop watches, and so on, use your phones and take notes. I don't want to hear people squabbling over a few extra seconds.

I would toss in a rule about the player votes to make it same army can't win every month, something like:
Once a army wins player vote it is none elegiable to win again for two more months.

This creates a three month period giving other armies a chance to win. Also gives players time to create new armies and not have same army win all the time.

I vaguely recall seeing a bag of sand timers at DL, iirc was near the miscellaneous gaming aids/basing stuff. No idea how much time they would measure tho.
