We've discussed it. Everyone like the idea, but there is a storage/transport issue. We'll see.

Astronomi-con does something cool....a table competition! I plan on participating next year. Maybe someting similar could be done at WGC.

Does anybody else find it odd, by the way, that the information age has led to language becoming an oblique and imprecise tool where even the most straightforward phrasing is pored over with chicken entrails and bone tossing to divine the true meaning?
Tables like this, while awesome, are unthinkably expensive to store. They need a lot of space and really can't be stored in a barn - rats will eat them and heat will melt them. So we're looking at a large climate controlled storage facility that is vermin-proofed. And that's after the expense of making the tables, which is not insignificant. We can probably afford to have 20-30 tables like this if we spend a year doing nothing else, but the tables will add $10 to every person's ticket cost just to pay for their storage. Every person, every year. Seems a bit much for the results, but I can be talked into it.
That said, we are definitely planning to do table terrain sets with reasonable levels of artistic design for the future. This year should have us with a pretty solid set of basic terrain, so future years should be focused on getting better pieces and terrain sets built.
