Thread: Dropzone Commander?

I was just curious if anyone around here plays it?

I've heard mention of it on BOLS and various other places and it actually looks pretty cool. Was just trying to determine whether it would be worth it to get into.

I've recently gotten into it. Have Shaltari and UCM armies, and would love to get a game in sometime.

DZC is a lot of fun. Very fast, keeps both players constantly involved, and seems like every activation contains some kind of hard choice.

Where are you playing? Got the book the day it came out. Read great, needed a few tweeks, but looked fun.
Never found anyone playing it in Austin.

Mostly been playing at the house with a few guys I know.

Was thinking about heading to the Lair this Saturday to meet up with a friend to play, probably in the early afternoon.

Thats the other problem, work Saturdays. You might try and introduce it to the guys at GHG or Mothership.
They both have play groups that are into small scale sci-fi.

If a group got started on Sundays somewhere I would put together an army and give it a go.

As much a DzC interests me (and I own DzC stuff) I am in a holding pattern waiting for Firestorm Planetfall. Since me and my group actively play Firestorm Armada, it seems natural to move towards Planetfall, especially considering the two game campaign potential. DzC and FP will are 10mm and FP will debut with all 6 major factions.

That being said. I would still love to watch a game or two being played. If I like what I see I will likely keep it. If I don't, I will likely sell it. Either way, I am jonesin' for some small scale conventional sci-fi.

What are the latest word on Planetfall? Liked the first pass at rules but never bought the models.

Looks like they haven't started Beta test yet. So much for a June release.
