    First round results

Making a new thread for this as the other was looong. Also, keeping it in the form of who issued challenge vs. target for X.

Bullymike vs. Morella for Manufactorum on Orias - goes to Bullymike, Chaos

Sorry team. How many 5+ saves can 3 maulerfiends and a bloodthirster make? About 95% of them somehow. Good news, the maulerfiends were banished back to the warp eventually. But expect to see a wizened bloodthirster coming at you, probably making all of its saves. And that damned aspiring champion probably deserves a reward from Khorne for single-handedly running down a 5/6 strong bike squad and then taking 14 more shuriken shots to the face before finally going down. Enjoy the skulls.

Will email my list to you Todd.

Yeah, in my battle with Dan it didn't go well either. I could blame any number of things, but as soon as we rolled the purge the alien scenario, playing foot heavy marines to try out the demi-company, against his horde of dakka fexes was never going to go my way. I inflicted what casualties I could, and a few brave soldiers survived, but my dice also revolted. Fun game trying to survive that, but it just didn't go my way.

After reading this I have decided that the movie "Pineaple Express" should redo one of its quotes from:

"But if you do something heroic then you'll come back as like an eagle or a dragon, or Jude Law."

    To:

"But if you do something heroic then you'll come back as like an eagle or a dragon, or Nick Rose."

10 Morella (Xenos) challenged Ball4eva (Imperial) for Geminus space adjacent to port/ps/hive city

    Went to Morella (Xenos)

Was a close game, one of those where it looked really bad for me turn 3, but then turned around. Actually, I think it was more my crappy save rolls infected the opponent and got better for me towards the end.

4 Kaika Chaos challenged RedArmy for Geminus Shield Generator - Red Army wins

I had a major victory in my defense last night. For my space grab I will take the space to the right of the shield generator. I had alot of laughs playing, hope to play you again sometime Kaika. I did decide to play with my knight, and he made a ridiculous amount of saves one turn. For me it was a nice turnaround, because my dice have been rolling really cold lately, but last night I was rolling armor saves on everything like a boss.

The game did make me reconsider something. Nick (and I think maybe some others) recommended being able to call 'no mas' and strategically retreat at the top of 4. Having fairly recently come back to this from fantasy I thought that was a little early and ruled that it should be the end of 4. Last nights game was a good lesson for me and I think that Nick was right. We had fun, and that was a game that by the end of 3 Kaika had no chance to turn around, and so I do think that it's fair to say the begining of turn 4 or any turn thereafter you can enact a strategic retreat.

13 DandyPandy Imperials challenged Txplays for space adj to Balin port/ps - DandyPandy wins

Don't let anyone say heavy bolters suck. Also, it felt like I was re-rolling everything with the devastator doctrine and double tactical doctrines.

Hell, with your ultramarines it's actually 2 dev and 3 tac if you are running a demi-company ...
