Forum needs more drama (ITC rule)

So in my quest to break the lame 40k meta I stumbled upon a FAQ rule in the ITC format that all but hard counters quite abit of the trouble armies.(looking at you Deep Striking/scouting Grav)

-Abilities that specify they affect a vehicle/building, such as Tank Hunters, Gauss, Graviton, etc, have no effect when rolling armor penetration against a Power Field/Void Shield.
-A unit only needs to have a single model at least partially within 12” of a Void Shield Generator for the entire unit to benefit from it.

I'm sure everyone has their own ideas of how to use a void shield generator so I'm not going to go into that one, but the ability for any army to be immune to entire netlists for the low price of 50 points seems like its got some potential.

(Though I feel sorry for necrons....)

3 AV 12 HPs is easy to pop with something else available in most instances, right?

3 Hp + ~1 hp every turn + a guaranteed 4+ cover wherever you want it is still a pretty good deal against most things. Lets just say 2 dreadknights statistically can't pop it in 1 turn.

IMO the current lame meta is wraithknights shooting D and Wolfstar. This doesn't counter either.

The meta is most definitely "turn 1 40 twin linked grav shots" + invisible ravenwing wolfstars. Most armies I play agaisnt in tournaments aren't even taking anti-tank weapons outside grav because why would they?

    List of armies to expect-
    War convocation + drop pods
Battle Company spamming MSU Grav cannons
    Skyhammer
2-3 Grav cents in drop pods
    Ravenwing Wolfstar
    Random Decurion
    Scatterbikes+wraithknight

Eldar are already falling out of the meta as they basically have 0 defence in the entire codex against any of the above. They have a solid place as allies though.

Give some armies free transports or wargear and another army 2++ re-rollable cover saves and all is right with the world.

But, give a mediocre codex(Space Wolves) one good thing(TWC) and everyone loses their mind.

It depends on who you ask. People were whining about wolfstar when I was running 100% SW codex. As armies have gotten shootier with twin linked this and twin linked that the 100% SW build has gotten less viable. So, allies help buff the squad just like every other army. Really, there are just a few armies that are top tier without ally buffs.

I'm enjoying running Eldar inside DE open topped transports but have yet to really face one of the above super builds.

Go to any san antonio or major tournament and you'll get to play as many as you want.
