Thread: Infinity Terrain WiP

Building some terrain for Infinity hopefully. Here's what I've got so far





Seamus from Malifaux is standing in for scale. The box he is standing in front of is a simple container that needs some detail work. It actually all needs detail work and proper groundwork and I'll get to that eventually but right now its all about churning out some stuff.

Next up will be roofs for the 3 buildings that don't have them, then decide if I want to put them on floors, MDF or leave them as is.
After that my first multi-story building so I too can enjoy the pain of building stairs...

60-70% of a 4x4 at the minimum. Probably shouldn't have more than 6-8" of straight line open space.

Once the large pieces are done I'll start on smaller pieces. I already have a bunch of wall molding cut up for police style barricades, and some soda lids I'll be turning into barrels. I've a got bunch more PVC fittings from a project years ago so I'll make some more of the industrial pipe stuff and I'll do something with the 4-5 plastic electrical boxes I have as well.

What I really want to do is a modular space ship or underground table, where the square footage is the same but it's all made up of connecting corridors, themed rooms, and scatter stuff.

You could even do a complete interior table, where the skirmish is taking place inside a single building.

I like the terrain. If you wish I could show you how to rabbit the foamcore. This would hide the foamcore edges at the corners giving a neater appreance.

Thanks for the offer. I know how to rabbit the foamcore but this is faster. At some later date the foam edges will all be trimmed in plasticard to add some surface features to the building so the exposed edging shouldn't be an issue forever. I'm thinking about moving to a 45 degree mitre on the corners that solves the exposed foam problem neatly as well.

I think I found a local supplier for foamed pvc so I'm not sure how long I'll be doing foamcore. Probably finish out the 5-6 sheets I have sitting ready to work on then try the pvc. If I can switch over to that alot of my issues disappear including glue time as you can use superglue on the pvc.
