    Tyranids terrain help

So, in playing a campaign with John G, we're exploring the three stages of a Tyranid invasion. One of the things the fluff stresses is how the world is changed as more mycetic spores drop, capillary towers grow and digestive pools are filled.

We don't really have terrain at Dragon's Lair to simulate this so I'm in need of aid in ideas for what the landscape would look like. I've scanned through Armorcast's offerings and found them pretty weak for what I think the 'Nid aesthetic would be. The stuff Forge World used to sell looked awesome but isn't available any longer. I've ordered 4 back issues of White Dwarfs which have 'Nid terrain building tips. I also have about 20 of the small Tyranid terrain pieces, but they're so small they're not much more than decoration for bases or larger terrain pieces. Would love to get my hands on the terrain bit from the Battle of Macragge set if anybody has one or five laying around.

Also I'd greatly appreciate any tips on creating Gigeresqe terrain on the cheap.

Thanks John! I really dig the melted soda bottle top look and the floating ball (love the rules suggestion on them as well as terrain that randomly moves).

Easter Eggs + Glue Gun = Instant Terrain

I've found this to be simple and super cost effective. Prime it black and paint it your chosen color. You can even go back over the glue with some high-gloss paint to make it shiny again. I've got about 9 spore pods that i used this method on. Unfortunately, they got scraped with the new book so they have been sitting on my shelf.

Infact, that might be a new project I work on - Cutting them in 1/2 to make more terrain. I'll need to get MDF for basing however... I must contact El Gigante.
with 40k its best to get the rules straight then apply imagination and rationalize; you will only get annoyed doing it the other way round

Yep, the paper mache eggs from Hobby Lobby work, too.

Those look cool! Wish they had the scale on it as if they're Dreadnought sized then yes, if they're space marine sized, not so much.

I believe those are about a goblin size.
