It would be nice if there was some kind of monthly gaming thing for just 30k. (I'd prefer to keep 40k and 30k split. Not because 30k is a buttload of rules to learn, but because 40K is unbalanced)
With Thousand Sons finally being released soon I'm finally interested in playing 30k, and between Betrayal at Calth and people who already own 30k armies there may be enough people playing to justify some kind of monthly group gaming etc.

Yeah the way I figure it and will be approaching it, 40K is the silly try-hard game for events and 30K is the funsies campaign style game

You just have to remind yourself its ok to have squads of guys with just bolters and very little else. You also have to relearn the rules for how people get run down in combat.

So what's it gonna take for there to be a 30k event and will there be modeling/painting reatrictions? I don't see the point in comp scores since everyone pretty much has access to the same units, but heavy appearance scores should be included.

I would be interested in a 30k event - though I don't have the rulebooks, and it looks like the slim red Chaos book is out of print from FW (guessing they may be updating to include volumes 4/5). And I just got the box so will need time to paint and add some other models.
Yeah, I just got done building my boxes. On to painting, and getting my pyroclasts built.
I've considered IF. I can't decide what to do with all my unpainted 30k. I've lost the desire to make them all Luna Wolves, so it is either BA or IF.
