Great event on Tue. Thanks to all who came out and made it happen. Because we still have 2 weeks before the next DL tourney we will treating next week as an Academic themed week, and based on the feedback we were getting from a lot of people, it's time for an army swap event. Two weeks from now (the week of the DL tourney) we'll probably be doing a Tourney prep event running 2999.
For next week, Tue Feb 8, please show up to DL at 5:30 for sign up. We will be running a 1000pt army swap tourney. There will be no dice given for paint scores, but you still can earn +1 bonus die if you bring a typed army list that includes all special rules and stats for your army (this is in the spirit of helping your opponent reference unfamiliar stats more quickly)
Round 1
6:00 – Game 1 (you play with your opponent’s army first)
7:15 – Game 2 (swap armies, now you play the same opponent with your own army)
8:30 – Game 2 ends
Round 2
8:45 – Game 3 (you play with your opponent’s army first)
10:00 – Game 4 (swap armies, now you play the same opponent with your own army)
11:15 – Game 4 ends
Notes about Swapping Armies:
- We must adhere to a strict “dice down” policy the moment time is called for the first game. Too bad if you were just seconds away from a crushing victory.
- Once time is called, you will already be eating into the allotment for your second game, so don’t waste time
- Quickly record points earned from the first game
- Rack up the dead of the army you brought
- Place terrain again, then roll for sides as normal
- It’s assumed that because you will be playing your own army in the second game you’ll be able to play a little faster, so you’ll be able to make up some of the time lost in the swap
Dice Earned
We’ll still be using our standard Double Deuces Tourney system. Players may earn the standard number of dice for each of the 4 games. If someone gets a bye first round, they’ll earn 5dice (equal to 1 win and 1 draw).
You may sign up on this thread or you can tell me in person, and I'll add your name to the list. You can also sign up in person at the event, but the last one there will get the bye if we have odd numbers.
