hey, I probably should have posted this earlier - sorry. MillCon doesn't advertise a whole lot, but I thought some of ya'll might want to come play if you got nothing better to do this weekend.

MillCon is deffinately more of beer-n-pretzels type of convention. Not too many tournies, but a lot of smaller demo type games. You don't have to bring anything in order to play as EVERYTHING is provided - rules, minis, dice, ect. I typically go in order to play games I am interested in or would never actually play on a regular basis. Reaper usually host a game or a free paint-n-take. Very friendly for teenaged wargamers, too.

I am playing some Gearkrieg on Friday night, followed by realistic/post-modern era SciFi hosted by Mike Wikan, some Napoleanics on Saturday, and runnin' and gunnin' in 1970's Rhodesia with Marty Wolverton's game. Sunday is going to be a hoot if I game instead of shop as I'll be hunting the white whale himself - Moby Dick.

There is a good mixture of modern, SciFi, fantasy, horror and historical games available. I think it is like $30 for the weekend, $20 for Saturday - and there are a couple of 40k demo games - a 250pt infantry only battle and a tank demolition derby.

If you've ever wanted to play something like a Zombie game or Napoleanic sale or modern stuff, this is a good time and place to do it. One year I got to do a "Charlie's Point" game based on the helicopter assault from the movie Apocolypse Now. Darby, the host, had a replica game board made from real arial photos of the movie set - was pretty cool.
