I'm half tempted to apply for this job, the worst they could say is no. Of course the chance they would hire an American (one from Texas to boot) is somewhat slim. It would be an interesting change of pace and a completely different career but it would certainly be different. Besides, it would give me a good reason to drop Blue Cross because the BNHS (British National Health Service) would be available to me free* of charge. Aside from that, we'll see where the company is going (or not going) for the foreseeable future.

*Socialized medicine is not free. British taxes pay for it... and there's a wait.

I think they are trying to get outside blood. Someone who isn't a part of the GW corporate culture. We'll see if it works. I don't think GW is close to dying yet but the life support monitor is about to be hooked up.

Here's a theory. The board of directors is just trying to get rid of Kirby. So to appease him they hire some seemingly random person for CEO. They give that person a 6-12 month contract and a cushy chair. If they play nice with the board, they might get to stick around. If they don't - they get blocked by the board for the term of the contract then they get canned and the board can go look for a real CEO. Either way is a win for te board cause at least they got rid of Kirby - which I think was their plan for like 3 years now based on financials.

The most valuable thing GW owns is the IP that is warhammer fantasy and warhammer 40k. The board will protect that to death. But maybe, just maybe, someone new will see the value of the IP and let the licenses make them some new revenue streams.

HA! GW couldn't handle an American CEO. They do so many things stupidly that it makes me go cross-eyed when i look at their business practices.

This is what I was talking about. Their strategy is so off/disconnected with the people they are trying to sell to, that they aren't able to course correct themselves anymore. And instead of looking at the numbers and saying "Oh yea, we have a problem" they are saying "It's a good idea that just needs more time. Lets double down on it again!"

Too much dead wood. Too many institutional issues. Too many yes-men. The new CEO needs to go in with a hatchet and clean house.

If you don't watch the videos - please watch the 2nd video and skip to the 6:45 second mark. It will blow your mind.
