Spined Chaos Beast and Plague Toads

    http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhamme...AOS-BEAST.html

Does anyone have any idea how big this model is? The scale pictures aren't helping much. I'm thinking of using it as a Maulerfiend conversion down the line and I just want to make sure it's acceptable in size and scale.

    Any ideas?

I'm also considering plague toads for chaos spawn.

the spined beast is pretty close to the maulerfiend, though you might need to use the base to make him taller. that guy in the one scale shot is the size of a marine. and the toads are around spawn size, but a little shorter I think, on account of them being toads.

you might also consider this guy as a base for your maulerfiend. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhamme...AOS-SPAWN.html

He needs to look more nurgleesque, and neither do... really. I think I can work more with the Mauler Fiend. Though the regular mauler fiend may work, it just costs as much as this forgeworld dude, so I may as well go forgeworld.

Plague toads are a little squat, and the Plague Ogryn seem right for the size but they only have one good model (the leader).

Have you considered using the Skaven Abomination kit as your Mauler. Very nurglesques and the right size to make the necessary impressions.

it's unfortunate that the toads don't have a mid-leap model in the set.

I think if you're going for bloated nurgle, you ought to pick up a stock maulerfiend and maybe add some tervigon bits and go with a different head.

That was an idea I had floating around as a basis for something Chaos. It is big - looks frigging nuts - and will give you a crap ton of extra bits too. I have been wanting to buy one for awhile.
