Ok, so originally the campaign was hoping to start in mid-June, however between Wargamescon, some of the personal issues I've had to deal with and other factors we are pushing it back a bit and hope to start on Thursday July 2, assuming no more delays pop up. The pace of the game as I have said before is that this campaign is designed to last for 6 turns of play. Each turn will last 3 weeks and during each turn you should have two games. If you are not able to play those games for travel or whatever other reasons please let us know ASAP so that some of the part-time players can be arranged to fill in so that the campaign does not get bogged down.

The first order of business is that I would like to get a confirmation from everyone who is wanting to take part in the campaign. At present the list is:

Imperials:
DandyPandy (Ultramarines)
Real Genius (BloodMech)
CRP (either SW of IG)
Viscount (FW Marines)
Darkwyn

Eldar/Xenos:
Randomnumber (Eldar)
Noah2015.5 (Eldar)
eaglesMVP (Eldar)
Morella (Eldar)
ccrrazzyyman (Tau)

Chaos/Destruction:
Sloth (Nids)
Kjolnir (Nids)
Noodlers (Chaos)
Bullymike (either Crons, Khorne DK, or Orks)
Tx Plays (Orks)

casual/drop-in players:
Karnage (Space Marines)
CptJoeyG (Space Marines)
Ninjawraitlord (Eldar)
Beamo (Eldar)
The Dude (Crons)
Sid (Nids)
Caldera (Harlies?)
Bal4eva (many/Ultramarines)

Now right now 2 of the casual players have asked for full slots. Right now the factions all have even teams, and it is already a large group of people for the GMs to handle in the event. I'm not saying no, but let me see if we have any drops and give it some more thought, and hopefully we can get you guys to participate completely. As I said above, what I do need/would like now, is for all of the players who have previously expressed a desire to take part in this to re-confirm with me that you are still interested. You can do that either in this thread or via PM.

As far as everything for the campaign, right now the biggest thing missing is we are still looking for help in creating the maps. Real Genius any luck on that front? Anyone else with any skill with graphics design or any kind of abilities who could help us in creating the maps?

That brings us to the rules. The rules are not completely finalized right now; the core of them I have received feedback on and brainstormed and is fairly set. The rules for the specific individual planets and tiles are still in the drafting stage though. Also, this is desired to add some fun and different play, and if things are not working well, are not liked, or are too imbalanced then I reserve the right to altar as we go to try and ensure that everyone is having fun. The present draft of rules can be seen via Google docs here:

I don't want this thread to become a rules debate. If you have input or concerns about anything please PM me and we can discuss it. One thing I want to stress though is that this is not intended to be GT-style, ultra competitive play. This is a campaign to encourage some more narrative and fluff themed armies and lists and to try and enjoy another aspect of this hobby.

So what comes next? Well, first as I said above, please everyone whose name is above in the list reconfirm with me your commitment to be a full part of the campaign. I know at least one person has expressed a desire to switch to another faction as well. If you have such a desire please PM me and we can discuss and I will see what I can do.

Once you have confirmed your commitment, start working on your Battle Host lists so that you can submit those as well. For tracking purposes the sooner that I get them the better, as I need to do some data-entry with them and with so many armies that will take me a bit of time. For those who are going to be on the casual/alternate list you may not have as many games as others, but if you are hoping to get into a full slot, or if you want to be able to utilize some of the character and unit advancement options you also will need to come up with a Battle Host to submit to me.

Once the factions are completely finalized, each will need to nominate a captain. The person who fills that role should not just be a popularity contest but it should be someone who will be able to be easily reachable by myself or the other GMs. If a given player can not be reached and a decision on his behalf is holding up the campaign I will defer to the choice of the team captain so as to keep things moving.

Ok, it's late and I have an early start to tomorrow so I'll leave it here for now.
