I still stand by my statement of Bajillionty to zero!! he just needed one tactical squad to wipe me out

After reading this I have decided that the movie "Pineaple Express" should redo one of its quotes from:

"But if you do something heroic then you'll come back as like an eagle or a dragon, or Jude Law."

    To:

"But if you do something heroic then you'll come back as like an eagle or a dragon, or Nick Rose."

Just curious, how did you choose to run the harlequins at 500?

Talked to Chris last night on his game with them as well. It is seeming like they will need an initial blitzkrieg to cover the troupes advancing. Just wondering if that is your opinion. Or do you think they are just going to be too fragile no matter what?

I did make an invul save only to remember I couldn't afford one at 500...

I don't know I think it was a little matchup, a little how do they do at larger points. They are crazy expensive and can just get shot off at lower levels, but they'll prob shine at maybe 1k, then may get lapped again around 1500 up. They seem, like Knights and Scions, designed to be played with other armies.

Yeah, harlequins at low points is rough given their formation options. Was why I wondered what Nick was running. I think the void/sky-weavers formation may be the better bet at the low points.

And I think I may change my mind and make harlequins my summer project (which is funny to me since I was planning originally to work on my slaanesh daemons). I feel like they can work on their own, but it will be with a completely different mentality than most armies. Direct damage is only a piece of what they can do, and they can't do it as well as most other things in terms of volume. I want to see if trying to leverage their other options would work reliably.

I like their late game potential. I'm paying attention.

Having a blast with this league! Its a great way to learn a new army (and 40k in general in my case) and stay motivated to get stuff done. Thanks all for keeping this going and organized

What is the next milestone? Are we doing two games at each point level? Or are we moving to 750?

750 on 3/26. The idea is to paint one week, play the other.

Maybe we should have some other tracker for non-pairing games? Maybe like track win-loss for all the league-sized games that weren't your official pairing and we can use that for seeding/tie breakers?

Nathan beat me 7-2. I had some pretty bad dice the first turn and I think I played my bikes wrong. I sent a squad of three bikes plus attack bike with heavy bolter at a five man squad of immortals. I killed one immortal on the way in and he managed to wipe all of the bikes away with a round of shooting and multiple rounds of assault. I managed to get his warlord, but he had most of a ten-man unit of warriors and nine immortals left at the end of the game and I had just five tactical marines left.
