    DL Tournament Format Changes

I tried running longer game time limits and a longer lunch, yesterday. Some games still did not finish and this led to a later finishing time. Feedback I received was an earlier finish time is highly desirable. However, do we want to run 2 hr games that don't finish? Will an extra 15 minutes help when an extra 30 did not? Do we want a 30 minute break for lunch, that seems too rushed to me? 45 minutes? ......or a full Hour? Discuss, don't cuss.

I'd be happy with the tournament staying on schedule. A prompt 11am round one start time and 4:15pm round 3 start time should have us out of there by 6:30pm. Personally I'd like an even earlier start time. The store opens at 10am; lets get the show on the road!

If people aren't finishing their games then maybe we need smaller armies. More 1500pt tournaments. Then again, if you can't finish in 2:30 hours it probably doesn't matter how much time you have. In a kill team tournament, with best of 3 rounds, my opponent couldn't even finish 2 games You may remember his solid brass CSM army...

I remember that guy. I saw him at the GW store opening. He still has the solid brass armies.

I think things slowing games down are:

    1. Lot's of Pyschic powers
    2. Every army seems to have more fire power than 5th Ed IG.
    3. Multiple codexs/allies.

I'm not opposed to starting earlier.

The thing that takes time is just hemming and hawing and not being sure of what you want to do when your turn comes around. I finished all my games with time to spare and my army has more special rules and detachments than most...

agree with this. its absolutely analysis paralysis more than anything. these folks don't need more time. they need more practice.

    Atychiphobia

Persons afflicted with atychiphobia considers the possibility of failure so intense that they choose not to take the risk. Often these persons will subconsciously undermine their own efforts so that they no longer have to continue to try.[4] Because effort is proportionate to the achievement of personal goals and fulfillment, this unwillingness to try, that arises from the perceived inequality between the possibilities of success and failure, holds the atychiphobic back from a life of meaning and the realization of potential.[5]
