What is the hobby challenge for the first month? Are these going to posted or just random and announced the day of?
Most likely painting as its something people will recognize. They will be posted beforehand

As Caveman said, the Clocks can be paused in the interest of looking up a rule, I don't know if that's going to stick further on as there are problems with pausing for anything that isnt a phone call or bathroom. could pause to look at the rules whilst actually deciding to charge or not for instance. I don't know how much of that we'll have or if we'll have it at all though. This first month is a test run of a lot of things. (including points for various victories which i need to review)

For the First month I had planned to make chess clocks optional (or at least vote on it after signups).
