    2014 Austin WM/H tourney schedule

Just wanted to get opinions from people on two tournament-related issues: schedule; and fees vs. prize support.

No guarantees on either, but would like to know what people want.

It's a multiple choice poll, pick whatever options would work for you (in other words, if saturday and sunday both work, choose both)

Once football season is over, Sundays look great. And I wouldn't mind throwing down $5 bucks for a tournament and possibly more for a larger quarterly/twice-yearly tourney.

    Still, Saturdays are better

I don't mind putting in $5 for support, but I'm perfectly okay with it remaining free.

I do however like the early starts on Saturdays way more than Sundays.

Sunday is Pokemon/geocaching day with my kids, so it's a non-starter.

    $5 - Saturday

For people wanting saturday + entry fees, are you ok with going undefeated and still not getting a prize? Because if we have to be out before kids 40k, we are probably going to strength of schedule not a 4th round.

I'm fine either way, just wanted to point that out.

Seems reasonable to me. I assume the first few tournaments will be weird as everyone gets their lists trimmed down for speed.

That's how it's worked for most of this year as well. I'm cool with most tournaments going to tiebreakers. I would possibly like to push for one of the alternate scoring types, if those are still outlined in the new Steamroller document. I think for our small group Strength of Schedule doesn't make a whole lot of sense to determine final results (prize support or not). I would much rather have CPs as the first tiebreaker for events if we're goign to be looking to tiebreakers almost every tournament.

I've been on both sides of the SoS tiebreaker this year, and I don't even like it when i win by it. I'm curious to see what others think about it. I know at a higher level on the PP boards a lot of people don't like the CP tiebreaker because it discourages all out assassination lists. For our little group that might not be an issue (I don't really feel like many of our players are really the kind that gun for assassinations all day every day). Personally I like tiebreakers that are at least somewhat in the hands of the player, whether we do CPs, Army points destroyed, most assassinations, etc. maybe even mix it up month to month as long as it's well advertised going in.

I'm fine with a CP tiebreaker, scenario emphasis probably betters the community anyways.

I was trying to think of some sort of conversion of assassination to CPs based on the amount of army points left, but then my brain hurt.
