    New DE list

    Ok thinking about trying this out and seeing how it goes.

    Archon- WWP, Blaster, haywire, Shadowfield, Helm of Spite-180
    5 Trueborn with 4 blasters, Dracon, Haywire- 130
    5 Warriors with Blaster, Venom with dual cannon- 120
    5 Warriors with Blaster, Venom with dual cannon- 120
    12 Reavers with 4 Heat Lances, 4 Cluster Caltrops, Arena Champ - 302
    12 Reavers with 4 Heat Lances, 4 Cluster Caltrops, Arena Champ - 302
    12 Reavers with 4 Heat Lances, 4 Cluster Caltrops, Arena Champ - 302
    12 Reavers with 4 Heat Lances, 4 Cluster Caltrops, Arena Champ - 302
    5 Scourges with 4 haywire blasters - 120

    Unfortunetly with DE you kinda have to ignore Eldar and Tau when building a list. That's a crazy number of reavers! Haha how are you going to deal with fliers or death wing? I also am not sure the point of the Shadow field? Is it just to tank wounds? You are deep striking a crazy fragile warlord right up in the enemy's face. How on earth do you expect to get more than just one shot off with them before they are all dead?

    I dropped in 5 wraith guard, autarch, spirit seer and succubus into an Eldar army... They caused major damage but they all died and they were much tougher than your 6 bro elves... I say drop all the wargear sans blaster if you plan on taking a WWP.

    Yeah I had about 65 pts left so thats where the wargear came from. Being able to drop next to a psyker with the helm seems good and yeah that unit is gonna die but if it takes out a priority target with it, thats cool. i don't care about fliers much as the only "good" options we have is the razorwing and....meh? 8 haywire blasters and the snapshooting heat lances might take down some fliers but mostly can ignore them while killing stuff on the ground.

    So whats the plan against armies with decent melee capabilities?

    Reavers hit like a truck on steroids on the charge, but they die almost as fast as naked ork boyz if they get charged. Almost all of your ranged weapons require you to be in range to be charged as well.

    Even ignoring tau and Eldar. Any kind of biker army will be the bane of your existence.

    Sure it has some weakness's but w/e I can cope with those. I will be able to mostly dictate fights on my terms. I mean yeah if I fail a charge and get charged in return, it will suck, but that comes with failing a charge. how will other bike armies hurt me? I'm just as maneuverable if not more.

    And yea, Tau/eldar **** on me but everyone is in that boat lol.

    You won't dictate fights very well with a melee army with 18" guns. Having run that with my orks for several months its rare to dictate the initial charges.

    Other bike armies hurt you because they can shoot you pretty well outside your charge distance, but you can't do the same.

    Also relying on HoW is... iffy. 4d6 str 6 rending hits sounds amazing and it is when it works, but getting those off is a lot more difficult then it sounds. If you keep the caltrops in the front they get shot to death, but if you put them in the back they probably won't get in Base to Base on the charge. And if you don't get the caltrops off...it won't end well with str 3 attacks and 5+ armor.

    Overall I think you will completely wreck non Tau/Eldar Gunlines and just **** on Knights(be very careful of the no jink vs explosions though... **** is gay), but you are going to quite literally auto-lose to Tau simply to smart missiles everywhere, and have a very difficult struggle vs Eldar and other bike armies. Everything else is toss up. You will also get to enjoy the fun that is cleansing flame just like my orks :P

    John Cook/John Waynes WaCon army that was IG + whitescars. Lot's of ignore cover and then Khan+chapter master.

    Yup. You have it even worse then my ork bikers. At least someone else here now understands the "weakness" of bikers without 3+ armor. There is ALOT of AP4/AP5 ignores cover in the game.

    Heck against jsut space marines things like
    Simple flamers in a drop pod can drop behind your dudes and kill all your heavy weapons easy.
    Thunder fires will just do hideous things to you. They don't have to declare which ammo they are using until after you decide to jink(look it up), So you are forced not only to jink to get a save but you don't even get your jink save... and they can snipe your special weapons.
    Stern guard will just remove entire squads
    Your bikes also get murdered if they get assaulted as well.
