A: No. Stealth Device is only discarded when the ship, as the defender, is hit by an attack.
An asteroid hit isn't an attack, but is a mine? I'll have to look at how the mine/bomb cards read.
I believe it isn't, because they called an attack something where you roll attack dice, they roll defense dice as part of your action during the attack phase. I think they ruled that if you attack, miss and damage them with vader, the vader damage isn't an attack either?
