    Would anone mind if...

...I used 1/50th scale BMPs and Soviet armor as some of my tanks?

For reference, the BMP model is:

1/5 of an inch taller than a chimera.
    1 inch longer,
    1 inch skinnier.

Does this fall under the "advantageous model" clause, and would anyone throw a fit if I deployed a couple on the table?

I would not like it. But I just personally hate that sort of crossover. Are you going to convert them at all?

No, actually. The point of getting a BMP-3 is because I think they're cooler than Chimeras, so converting them would defeat the point, I believe.

Also, notably, the layout as well as some other features is very Chimera-esque.

Note the barrel bracing for the main gun, then note the funny barrel-bracer on the Chimera's main multilaser.

Don't get me wrong, I can see why you might want to do that, but I'm with the Dude. It just doesn't seem like you're properly committing to the game's idiom. See also using a model blackhawk for a Valkyrie... Why not convert a chimera to be more bmp-ish instead?

I'd be fine with it. It's got the same "weight" on the table, but I would be sure to put as much GW sh*t on it as possible so people like those above don't get their panties in a knot.

That's a pretty significant difference, meaning you can block more when you turn it sideways, or fit more side-by-side when you need to drive through a narrow gap in terrain.

But if you 40k'ized them, with GW hatches and pintle guns I'd probably not have a problem with it.
