I think they are leaning towards "bring whatever you want to the non-hobby tournaments, perhaps with a 1 D weapon max limit" currently, not what you're suggesting. It still all seems up in the air though.

Personally, if we are willing to do crazy stuff like a 500 point tournament, terrain building events, stuff with wacky hobby missions, etc., I don't know why can't do 1 or 2 "escalation and stronghold allowed" tournaments a year and ban them the rest of the time, rather than allowing those supplements at every non-comp/non-hobby event (I'd like to see non-comp-based events that still don't include those 2 supplements...there's a huge spectrum of models and armies that are too good for a hobby events, but can't hold a candle to some of the dumb stuff you can bring when supplements are allowed...).
