    newcrons

    lets do this!!

played w new rumorules plus chilicheese mephrito rules from exterminatus last night. the new reanimation protes is so much less a headache and feels more effective than old style even if a bit less inspiring mechanic wise. bargelords still good but gotta take care where he goes. overall it feels like nothing's really worth investing a ton of points in to make more effective. ty was not playing any hardcore shooty units so the annihilation barges were still putting out good shots. the ghost ark is gonna be spammed for sure unfortunately. its even better w that salvo juice.

new book just arrived at DL, goin to pick it up! see yall robots there

Picked up the book last night to JW. Ctan shooty looks pretty good. Some of the relics look promising although most are one use

Played another game yesterday, this time cron v cron. we actually both played with Orikan, i think he will be a lot of fun. i used destroyers, which i found to be tough but not too hurty. next time I'll have a monolith instead for the same amount of points and add more tactic utility for probably the same amt of damage output.

Tyson played a nightbringer/cryptek council formation w a godshackle, and that thing is a real pain in the ass now that the ctans are characters and can either take his 5++ and FNP, or can look out sir to the crypteks who can have a 4++ (phase shifters) or 5++ to shooting (chronometron) plus 4+ reanimation rolls. its a big points investment, but if he's not locked in assault, his lil gaze of death power can target units busy in other assaults and get back wounds, which is rude, and the formation is a challenge to bring down at T8.

JW has locked onto this combo as well.

Please god tell me he can't gaze of death into combats. That **** pisses me off to no end in fantasy with undead screams.

But yeah I kinda welcome the new ctan overlords... er shards. Slow but durable and dangerous at close range. (pretty much how necrons SHOULD play)

Everything in the new book looks at least decent which awesome.

I just love how durable basic Necrons are against shooting in general now. Their sheer durability could really throw a wrench into things like serpent spam who simply don't have the bullets to put down the silver tide in 5 turns.

It doesn't say unengaged and it's not a shooting attack. So yeah, right into combats.
