Nope. Because, at least in the BRB, Counter Assault specifically states the "+1 assault bonus". I know Blood Claws gain +2 when assaulting, but Counter Assault is not a "normal" assault. So no, by my logic they would not get +2, because they gain +2 for Assaulting, not Counter Assaulting :P
The main issue, for me anyway, is that the extra attack is named the "+1 assault bonus". And that is the bonus that Defensive Grenades deny. Simple. Just call it, +1 attack and I'm good. But as it stands, RAW, there is room for an arguement.
Kinda like Baron Sathoyx gaining +1 on rolling to choose deployment zones, which GW stated don't exist. Bad wording. Get it together GW!!
