What's the big deal? That you can pay 25 points for +1 combat res per hero or that you can have a bunch of heros with magic banners (but no magic armor)?
(Although, if all 70 of Nate's goblin heros were BSBs .... that's not a unit that is going to lose combat any time soon.... on the other hand, don't you get +100 victory points for every BSB you kill?)
I don't know the wording for undead, but tons of bsbs might make them unbreakable
