Well I got an email today announcing a new anthology, and then at the bottom of that email there was another announcement about another anthology to come as well.
Is anyone else tired of anthologies?
The Horus Heresy is my favorite thing GW does and I feel like in the past year they have released 2 actual books, one of which was not worth reading, and then a bunch of anthologies.
No more anthologies for me!

Damn I get tired of people bitching about gw rule set but damn I do have to say the black library is releasing a bunch of low effort high margin stuff
Imagine my excitement to see not only a new Horus heresy book on my war hammer app but also one told from the perspective of a leman Russ crew kind of a win win in my book.
Then only to find out it is a novella which will probably at some point be released in a an anthology
Ah they must have read this, there was just an update in the app saying the corresponding novel is coming out in feb

The reason I say that is because they have been releasingn a lot of novellas and anthem logins lately and they interviewed the head editor and she said she liked that model.
It's not just the Horus heresy either I bought a flesh tearers book and it turned out to be an anthology and I had already read half of it so I felt cheated.
The reason I say minimal effort is that I say it takes a lot less effort to write a novella or produce an anthology than it does a novel. The prices they charge are high for the novellas so I would think they also have more margin.
The Novellas I have read I have liked and thought contained some key points in the story line. But, I haven't read them all.

since then 5 anthologies
anthologies are bad because the usually are a collection of books that were already sold as novellas, and the avid readers would have already bought them.
so, when the avid readers buy the anthology they find out they have already read a portion of the books
all being said this makes me madder than WAVE SERPENT SPAM
instead i have to listen to podcasts where they recap how darkwynn did in the lvo or some crap like that

Anthologies are not inherently bad. However, the way GW fills anthologies with regurgitated material is bad.
You can not be an avid reader because you have not read all of the Gaunt's Ghost books, yet. Shame on you, Pooh Bear.
