Okay guys, some more administrative cleaning up. I want to make things clear, and I figured I would do the first run on Facebook.
Things you NEED for Clash for the Cure 2011!
All of the normal stuff, you know an army, tape measure, templates, cards, probably a book with all of your favorite "tabbed" pages...
Then there are things that a lot of guys who are not the big touring tournament types might be missing.
1. a Timer! Let me specify a little since I usually get different types of replies. A digital timer with a countdown feature (or stopwatch display). "Oh, no worries, I have my IPhone!"
BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZZ
Smartphones are not acceptable. Too many times I have seen a call or a message come in and screw up the timer. Stopwatches (as in wris****ches w/stopwatch function) are still in the category of unacceptable as the display is too small.
Dollar General has digital kitchen timers for $1, Wal Mart has some for a couple of bucks. It's a quick fix that's easy to handle cheaply.
2. Printed Army List- again, please no IBodger lists on your phone to show to your opponent. Go to www.forwardkommander.com and print off a couple. It's quick, it's easy, and makes things so much simpler. If you like to use your cards for damage, that's your choice. However the full sheet makes things easier for your opponent and yourself. Please don't come in and write your list down on a Subway napkin. My suggestion is to make 5 copies. Give one to each of your opponents. I did not require list submissions for Clash, but the policy of dishonesty will be handled by DQ. If your opponent has a copy of your list, there is no way he can say later on that you took him for a ride.
3. This is the Clash Exclusive-you need 3X 30mm base models, preferably from your faction, but NOT from your actual list. These are your "prisoners" from the Hold'em Scenario
If any of you have extra timers, please feel free to bring them, as invariably...someone will show up without one. No matter emails, FB posts, and anything else you can think. Luckily Wal-Mart is right down the road and open 24hrs...but that causes everyone else to get behind in starting. Please don't be that "one".
Now I am back to the grindstone for some last week preparations. Looking forward to meeting all of you!
