Wyrd has decided to run a winter campaign for Malifaux - I do not have all the details yet, but will post them as soon as I get a final draft. They have envisioned this as a series of weekly one-day achievement leagues, but since we cannot schedule that much time on such short notice, I am going to try and mesh what they present with a format that is more amenable to our group, so should basically be a regular league, with new achievements available each week.

I will schedule the league to run concurrent with our normal Tuesday night time slot. There will still be the option of playing non-league games if you wish. Wyrd really wants us to charge a fee, with the proceeds going directly to the store to buy prize support (they are trying to promote support of the FLGS in this regard), however after talking with some people last night, I think I may just run as a free league with no prize support other than some sort of recognition for top honors in various categories. Please let me know your thoughts on this point, however, as my decision is about what y'all want, not me.

This campaign will be linked to an ongoing story, with a weekly faction winner (overall, not just in our group) being allotted more of the story dedicated to them. I will hopefully get more details on this soon.

Basics:
League will run during the Tuesday night Malifaux time at Dragon's Lair. It should end just before the store moves, so the time will not change midway. I cannot be there until about 8:30-9 pm this semester, but I will be there as soon as possible. I know several players often start showing up around 5 and we can obviously stay until closing (midnight). I will post the weekly achievements here with more detail soon. I will also try to leave a few copies at the store, but it would be helpful if those of you who plan on showing up could have an extra copy on hand in case somebody new stops by. This event is designed to be very beginner-friendly.

It does not matter to me if you choose to play games outside of the group time or at a different location as long as you provide details of who and where you played and submit them to me. I will also put up a log for you to record these games.

Also, I would like to encourage you to write narrative battle reports for any Malifaux games you play. Wyrd runs a monthly contest for these on their site with prizes, details on that here: http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread...t-With-Prizes!

I may see about running a painting contest or two online or in store concurrent with this, but I need to think that through first and get a plan in order.

Feel free to add your thoughts on all this. I apologize for not having all the specifics yet, but I wanted to give everyone a heads up sooner rather than waiting for all the details from Wyrd. Will post them as soon as I can.
