    Death Clock

Can we implement this for warmahordes?

And for that matter, 40k tourney's?

    Death clock :

If a round in warmahordes is 90 mins long. You and your opponent have 45 mins on a timer that you split. You use however much time you need on your turn. When you run out of time, you lose. I reallllllllly like this idea. Throws slow play out the effing window! Oh you couldn't get to turn 5, should have played faster! heh.

Just need a few cheap chess clocks. Hell, you could do an escalating time-scale,
    first turn: 10 minutes,
    2: 10 minutes
    3: 8 minutes
    4: 7 minutes
    5: 5 minutes
    6+: 3 minutes

    Let hilarity ensue

Eh, there are still ways to slow play on your opponent's turn. This just punishes the wrong player for it.

Exactly though, it's a negative impact for someone to waste time like that. If they run out of time, they lose!

Yup. What Matt said. I got slow played all over my turns in 'Ard boys.

Me: "That's three saves on the Carnifex..."
Him: Picks up codex, looks at toughness stats, looks at my dice, "What's the strength of the weapon?"
    Me: "8"
Him: Picks up rulebook consults chart, "OK that's three saves."

Then we do it all over again for the remainder of the shooting phases, then the assault phases, so that we only get to the top of the fourth...

Oh I see what your saying. When reading about the deathclock, this example was talked about and the solution brought up was turning the clock on for your oponnent when resolving their rolls if they are taking an inordinate amount of time. This would have to be ameneded for 40k because in warmahordes there is not a whole lot that your opponent does in your turn.

I am down for this, and would be willing to buy a chess clock and bring it to tourneys.

Just tap the time over to them if they're sitting there hemming and hawing about whether to transfer or which lucky dice to pick for their tough roll.
