It is not worse then 6th. There are things I like - but for the most part I am not upset after playing some games.

1. We should not limit WC. The WC mechanic - while allow some armies to complete shut off weak psychic armies - is not inherently broken. In fact it limits a lot of casting most of the time and the biggest thing I feel is that it makes large WC armies very slow to play with. Thus not making it nearly as good for competitive play when time is an issue. Don't expect summoning armies to win games - beyond the fact you will most likely need real models the summoned units can cause all sorts of interesting things.
- If your army isn't a Deamon based army you all of a sudden become unbound. Think about it - that means all those eldar jetbikes, wave serpents, etc, don't steal objectives from you. The reason you become unbound is obviously your army is now not based on your original Forge Org - CAD's etc.
- So far most events are pushing you need the real models to summon things. No more summoning skeletons to be your plague bearers, or other crap to counts as that stuff. If you have worked on models, especially painted, then most events will look past this.
- If you are just dabbling in Psychics - I would leave that Librarian at home. It isn't worth it when really even the big casting armies are throwing 3-4 spells at most and your single spell is just going to get stopped by a 10+ attempt to deny.

2. I think we need to let more then one CAD in. I know this might allow for some broken builds but I feel a Comp system that is designed for variety will help keep this in check. The multiple CAD would allow some armies to still work - (Nids) etc and not feel left out of the game. Again I think the group should work on the Comp system to help make sure we don't see broken stuff.

3. Escalation is bad in a bubble - but when you start to see more armies they become manageable. We saw a C'Tan wreck some stuff at the event this weekend. Old Orks just had no chance with big templates and a guy who is immune to so much shooting. Is he completely broken? Versus some armies yes - others he is a waste of 800+ points (Grav kicks the crap out of him). It is hard to say without more testing but again that is the only models I see might be an issue. Just because he is easy to get without a real model and lots of C'Tans that are easy to get etc. I know you could get the plastic one but who is going to use the rest of the kit or buy it on Ebay for 60 bucks.

4. Vehicles are a lot harder to get rid of. Man they take forever and certain things are a pain in the butt. It is hard to remove Flying Vehicles but forcing Jinks before you shoot is an important change. It hopefully limits some of them (even thought the Necrons love it). Still overall that is a good change and I expect a lot of games won by the rhino/drop pod in the future.

5. The only Deathstar that stays relevant in the game lately appears to be Centurion star. It wasn't the best to begin with but all the pieces still work. Seer Council has issues when it won't deny objectives mixed with not being able to kill nearly as much. The Land Raider army is a pain in the butt for it. I think most builds are going to go big and provide too many targets for small armies to deal with. The Paladin star is ok - but it is slow and a few Mind Strike Missiles does some damage on it like you wouldn't believe.

6. Right now I would say let things in - will develop what is hopefully a decent Comp with a tweaked Swedish system. I think that is the best way to allow all the toys to get played and keep the rules as simple as can be.

Thoughts?
