This is the first go; these aren’t the permanent rules and likely next time we’ll try something different. But for now, here’s what I’d like to try:
- First games: February 12th, 2015
- Last day of play: March 26th, 2015
- All games will be 1500 points
- Missions will be rolled randomly according to 40K The Rules, unless the two players mutually agree on a mission from the 40K The Rules.
- Players who declare their participation by the date of the first game will be shuffled into the initial pyramid.
- Players who declare their participation after the first game date will be added to the bottom of the pyramid.
- Declare your participation in the 40K League forum on www.centexwar.com
Each Thursday morning, the current pyramid will be posted on CenTexWar. As soon as it is posted, anyone participating in the league can declare a challenge against anyone in their same tier. First come, first serve and you’ll only be required to play one game per week.
Report Victory Points from your game on CenTexWar. At the end of each week, the lowest scoring players in each tier will move down and the highest scoring will move up. The two players at the top of the pyramid for the last week will play each other for the top spot.
The player at the top of the pyramid at the end of the league will get a $35 gift certificate to Dragon’s Lair.
The player who paints the most during the league will win a $15 gift certificate to Dragon’s Lair. If you want to enter the painting portion of the league, post a picture of your unpainted models on top of your rulebook or Codex before you play your first game.
If you have any questions, please post.
FAQ
Q: What about Maelstrom missions-- those are worth more points, right?
A: True, mutually agreeing on one of those missions could earn you more points in a weekly game. “Go big” is a valid league strategy.
Q: What’s “the most” in regards to the painting contest?
A: “The most” will be judged by me, but will be sensible, and I’ll take input from the peanut gallery.
Q: If I’m on the bottom of the pyramid and I score the lowest, do I move down and out?
A: No, you just stay on the same tier, but you will get an inspirational haiku.
