I think the FAQ did get them sorted but I am sure there is something that they missed or that I missed. I kept that as a fallback just incase...Individual units that may have multiple rules versions will follow the rules presented in that army's codex. This means a Black Templar Land Raider will function differently than a standard Space Marine Land Raider for example. Please take the time to review the FAQ's for clarifications.
Is this even true anymore? I think the latest FAQs got them all sorted out (sorry, no more magic BT smoke launchers).
Special/Unique/Named Characters may be fielded unless their rules would not allow them in a 2000 point army.
So it is 1850, but the SC limit is for 2000? Does that mean I can have a third HQ special character because that would be allowed in 2000?
No, this is mainly for the older codexs that had the point limit on use of special characters such as Grimaldus from Black Templar who can only be used if the force is 1500 points or higher. Not that you can use a thrid HQ because you can leverage a FOC chart. I will clean that section up.
I will have to see how everyone else views this. I would just want the rules on site and since the store doesn't make money from Forgeworld hardbacks I am not worried where the rules come from as long as you have them. The Codex which are the main part of the army should be an actual book for a player to read. We are also going have to think about GW digital products as they come out now.How does this:
Forge World/Imperial Armor rules will be allowed only if they have the Warhammer 40,000 Approved logo for the unit. Rules must be onsite to be presented to the player and clearly explained what the rules are to the player.
... interact with this?
You must provide access to your own rules (which include the actual Codex used for your army)
