In my defense, I had only read the wording on the ranged attack part. Not the earlier part about measuring distance to a model. However, I do think there is an argument that I am not measuring between two models, I am measuring the full distance of my ranged attack and only noting if the target model is within that range.

Its wrong, of course, I just think its an argument.
