I bet the Testor's Thinner is alcohol-based, so I wouldn't use it except with Tamiya or the Testor's Aztek airbrush paint. Just pick up a gallon of distilled from the grocery store and thin the GW, P3 paints with that.

Then use the thinner to clean out the airbrush.

I use a mix of 10:1 Distilled Waterry Retarder to thin all paint with. It might be in my head but I think it helps with tip dry in the airbrush.

I should try the retarder, I know a lot of people recommended it and the GW acrylics are always gunking up my brush.

Liquitex or Golden Air Brush medium is all you need. Pre-mixed with slo-dry and flow improver. I use it all the time and it is magic air brush sauce.

I don't know if you found a brush yet but was also in the market for an airbrush and compressor and I went with the iwata eclipse hp-cs. I found a really good deal on it to that is still available, if you google "hobby lobby 40 off" you can get a coupon for 40% off any one item and I used it on the brush in store. After the coupon it was $120. The coupon expires in 2 days though, just thought I would pass it on.

Go to http://hobbylobby.com/weekly/weekly.cfm -- they almost always have the 40% off coupon. This one expires the 22nd, but on the 23rd a new one will appear.

My wife gets pissed when I forget about it.

Actually if you download the app, you can get a new one every day. . I use them at least once a week probably.

Nick should use the 40% off coupon to get a new compressor.

Or he could pay someone to go get him a compressor. He values his time.
