I don't play Cygnar, but the write-ups on the forums about Sloan seem instructive and make sense. If I played Cygnar I would want to play her cause she sounds cool but a 16/14 6 focus that needs to use 5 of those focus a turn to be useful just seems scary as hell.
She does sound cool with assault troops and boomhowlers and she just upkeeps refuge on herself and keeps advancing shooting 16 and refuging back
So it turns out (after getting beaten a few more times) that the list above is total **** and that I didn't understand the way that the Hunters behave. They only get +2 to damage on small base targets, and only ever halve base armor not total armor. This means that at best a Hunter is useless against an infantry composition, and while it could make a Khador 'jack cry that's about the only reason to ever have one.
I'm slowly realizing that the propper Sloan strategy is indeed a meatshield line, behind which the Squire, Reinholdt and two or three Defelders lurk, providing support for Sloan herself to poptart with that sexy rifle... which is unfortunate because a pHaley or eHaley could take the same list and shove it down someones throat while shooting the entire time.
aaand I'm picking up Haley and finishing my Storm Brigade. The experiment is over, thanks for slapping me upside the head.
