If I wanted to get into fantasy with the High Elf Mega Force, does it suck. I mean is that army just garbage?
I figure with Isle of blood and the megaforce I'd have a respectable starting force along with rules and junk.

Dragons don't see a lot of table time these days, but it's not a 100% dud. Isle of Blood has a few non-starters like reavers and the griffon, but I think as a whole it won't do you too terribly bad...

But you could do worse than High Elves I guess, just be prepared for the soul crushing toughness 3 and crazy expensive everything but rejoice in the always strikes first and good magic skills. (Not as good as Vampires but you can't have everything, even what you are supposed to excel at I guess unless you use Teclis...which we won't let you.)
or instead of fantasy you could pick up warmahordes. much more fun IMO, I really don't like fantasy's system

****, if a dragon wasn't 300+ points and had a bit more protection than "my balls are out! Shoot me with a cannon!" they'd be better. 100 point drop on the chaos one in particular would be nice.

Warhammer =/= Warmahordes. Fair if you like it more, but I don't like my troops being able to do anime 'Lets all combine our shots into one MEGA SHOT' crap. Plus, all of their proportions look really silly to me.
