it looks like after 10 or so years of wargaming, i have developed a superglue allergy. Does anyone else deal with this? I have a mask but it doesnt seem to help. Are there any alternatives to glueing for model assembly? Thanks

I use testers cement for plastics it melts the two contact points together. Never had any reaction to it for almost 20+ years. Try that should be easier on your body reaction wise.

Usually this is a CA glue allergy and the plastic cement doesn't have the same formulation. I also have a CA glue allergy. I figured it out several years ago.
Try different glues, some were worse for me than others. The gel glues caused me the least number of reactions. The thin liquids were the worst.
You can also try "foam safe" CA glues, usually found at model airplane shops or websites, and these caused me no issues, but are a little harder to work with.
But I switched to mostly plastic models to avoid the CA glues since I could use the plastic cement. When I do use CA glues, I do it on my back porch, and use the Loctite Ultra Control Gel. I got it at Home Depot, but it is pretty popular. I've found it gave me the smallest reactions.

I second the loctite gel. CA glue goes straight to my eyes and causes irritation, but the loctite gel doesn't do that to me.
thanks for the advice. I used to use the loctite a lot and don't remember having issues back then. I'll give that another shot for non-plastics and get a tube of the plastic glue otherwise.
I never had it until I got here. I thought I was allergic to Texas.
The gold label BSI(Bob Smith Industries) glue is great for people with super glue allergies. It is vaporless. It's not cheap but it is great glue and won't give your allergies fits. Hobby Town @ Parmer and Mopac and Battlefield Games in Killeen both carry the full line.
