    Some rule things

According to this person and others in the linked thread the Berserk CC Special Skill is optional.

    Thoughts?

Does anybody else find it odd, by the way, that the information age has led to language becoming an oblique and imprecise tool where even the most straightforward phrasing is pored over with chicken entrails and bone tossing to divine the true meaning?

That seems to be correct. From the wiki:
Berserk is an automatic Special Skill that does not require Orders to be spent for activation but its use must be declared at the same time as the declaration of a Close Combat Skill use. The use of this Skill is optional and it can only be applied in Close Combat.
So ya I guess you can choose to not use it if that seems more beneficial.

Well for example Wallace and his boys if they make it to CC and get everyone in base Wallace would be at +12. Wallace would be at Crit 9+ which would make choosing to not use Berserk a good idea because my opponent will only be able to beat the CC face to face with their crit thus making it less than likely they get a swing on Wallace.

Yes Berserk is optional. I've seen it mentioned many times on the forums.

BTW we misplayed the minimum-2-orders thing. That is totally not a rule and I made it up The rule is that you get 2 free orders *when in loss of Lt.* There is no general 2 order minimum, just a special rule for loss of Lt. that you get exactly 2 orders. I don't fully understand how that works with multiple combat groups, and the wiki is not clear, but my read is that you get 2 orders to spend on any combat group you want, but it's 2 orders total, not per group. And you can spend those orders nominating an Lt. if you want, or use them normally. I am currently asking for a clarification on the forums.

The two order minimum is correct for the army as a whole. If you were down to one model you'd either be in LoL and have two orders to nominate a new one or your last model would be your Lt. and you'd have his order and the Lt. order. Though straight from the wiki:
The minimum number of Orders in the Reserve is 1.
    and
Remember that the Orders from miniatures in a Group are not transferable to another.
Those two statements would make me believe that you don't get 2 orders minimum per combat group one could easily fall to just one order after taking losses.

    Clarified on the official forums:
    http://infinitythegame.com/forum/ind...ltiple-groups/

So it's those 2 orders to spend across all groups (plus religious and impetuous) which you can either use or spend on nominating an Lt.
