    Cyriss clockwork priest

So it's nice and ironic that I got the last bits in the mail to finish my clockwork priest of Cyriss on the same day they announced the new aesthetic ...

Nice! That looks really good. What pieces did you use to create it?

    Thanks! Guess!

    Just kidding:
Obviously, liberal helpings of Leviathan/Harrowers: 4 back legs with portions of the smaller front legs for the extra joints; the weapon arms of both for the 4 arms; the knee of a front leg + the top part of the Harrower mortifier (heavily snipped) for the head; the leg attachment and stalk of the Leviathan body for leg/body attachments.
Used two of the Vanguard chassis turned verticle (1 trimmed for the neck) for the body.
Various Protectorate light 'jack hands and weapon pieces, all snipped and repositioned.
Tons of sawing, cutting, pinning, and gluing, with as little green-stuffing as I could manage. It was a pain in the ass, especially trying to hold everything together to position, balance, and connect, but I have to say it was fun.

I've loved the idea of a Cyriss army ever since a guy did conversions of Protectorate Flame Guards into the human cultists in NQ #10. I really hope they don't completely ignore the human element in the new Convergence (mainly fluff-wise), but I'm skeptical, at least from the first glimpses of their infantry. Oh well, I'll still at least pick up some of those models for the painting fun.

the infantry look slike their heavy multiwound infantry. Im sure we'll see some crazy augmented cultists single wound fodder. Your mod looks amazing, BTW. at least paint that up and pop it on the big boards. Looks just like that art!

Thanks, I appreciate it! Got a few more things I want to do (in blatant violation of my cardinal rule, "stop effing with it"), so hopefully those'll work. Fortunately, the paint scheme shouldn't be too involved ...

Well, here's more info on the Convergence:
    http://privateerpress.com/community/...ider-3-13-2013

Guess we're not going to be getting "actual human" cultists:
"Convergence isn’t made up of your run-of-the-mill cult of Cyriss members—these are the most extreme and devout Cyriss worshippers in all of Immoren. So extreme is their devotion to the Maiden of Gears, a core tenant of their faith requires the transfer of the soul from inferior flesh to mechanikal perfection."

And here's the latest on my clockwork priest. Once I got the base colors down, I got a bit tired of metals ... so I haven't even started on the shading/highlights yet -- still a long way to go (and yes, there's something off with that left eye -- so much for my GS skills -- gonna have to figure out something to do about that). Figured I'd at least show something in progress:

Thanks! Now to muster the will to unshiny a bunch of metallics and freehand the Cyriss symbol on his chest ... :P

And so much for this design (based on Father Lucant in the Witchfire stuff) making it into the game, hehe.

At least today's Insider makes me feel a little better now:
"Visually we wanted to make sure that Father Lucant represented an evolution of his original form within the Witchfire rather than a complete redesign. However, Lucant has had several years to improve upon his clockwork vessel since the events in that adventure. As such, Lucant now marries elements of his original appearance with the aesthetics common to the Convergence of Cyriss."
Just assume anything I post here is meant in good humor and filled with obnoxious smiley emoticons ...
