One of the good things about going to conventions is the opportunity to try out new games. I played a set of 15mm mass combat fantasy miniatures called Pride of Lions at Millennium last week.
This is a very fun set of rules. The magic system is very good and doesn't seem to overpower the game. The combat system is somewhat reminiscent of the old AD&D Battlesystem game mechanic. Unlike Battlesystem, it seems to have a workable points system.
The miniatures for the game are produced by Splintered Light Miniatures and are really nice sculpts. You can use other manufacturers if you wish but the SL minnies are hard to resist. Here is a picture of some skeletons units I have put together for the game (these are old Battlesystem minnies, I haven't had time to paint up any of the SL models yet).
