To err is human, to forgive is not SAC policy.
I think this show is another example of a book ruining a movie for me. I loved the comics, and just wanted them to make a televised version of those. The series started out well, but then the plot deviated more and more from where I expected it to go, and the characters were more and more poorly written (Shane wasn't supposed to be bat**** insane, Carl isn't supposed to be retarded, Lori isn't supposed to be an irritating bitch ALL THE TIME), and the lack of a decent budget really showed in season 2 (a show about zombies that only had one or two zombies per episode, they spent waaaaay too much time on the farm doing nothing). I liked the first season, and I really wanted it to keep getting better as the writers matured, but it just went downhill in season 2. I'll probably give season 3 a few episodes to try to draw me back in, but i'm not gonna get my hopes up.
Give a man fire, and you keep him warm for a night.
Set a man on fire, and you keep him warm for the rest of his life.
I'm really losing interest in the comics, especially after what happened in #100. It just is starting to seem that it's the same recycled story time and time again. I think as far as the show goes season 3 will be pretty decent as long as Rick stops eye****ing the camera every 5 minutes.
Usually the comic book nerd in me refuses to enjoy things that stray from the books (kickass, any of the xmen movies, to a lesser extent game of thrones, LotR), but I've been able to accept the series as a separate entity. I agree, second season was too much human drama, not enough dead. But I have hopes for the third season to get darker. It's not gonna be as good as the books (or as messed up), but I'm still looking forward to it.
Listening to people who've read the comics and watched the show is always interesting to me. I've never read the comic and I've watched Season's one and two. I understand the complaints that people have voiced with season two's issues, but I've enjoyed the show up until now. However it seems to me that most people who've read the comics hate the fact that the television show is digressing from the original story. I don't really understand this, I kind of like the fact that you get a new story in the television show. However I also threw a hissy fit when Tom Bombadil wasn't in Fellowship, so if someone calls me the kettle black I won't be offended

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?
I like the walking dead comic and the show. However I was waiting the first two seasons for Shane to be shot. Now that has happened I can watch and wait for Lori to eat it/get eaten whatever. Nick just play WoW; that's the only thing you seem to never complain about..
