Clearly they spent all their time on the Isstvan III board and let the interns make the PDF. It appreciate the effort to release the colors, since that's what a lot of people ask for, but I really only like FW's take on the World Eaters.
I don't get some of them-- they really don't look like the book at all.

well the DG improved. The EC is still crap, and the SoH has too much half-assed weathering. They would have benefited from keeping the weathering to the green and black parts, and not just drybrushing over the whole completely painted mini.
Well, I think the previous minis were half-assed. These are maybe three-quarters-assed.

I'll give you that. The gold is what's still killing the EC. I know that's their thing, but gold really makes or breaks a model, and I think shading it properly and using some purple in the mix would make it just right.
I think you hit it with the weathering. If they were just nice, clean models it would represent better. Instead of just sponge-it-all-over grey.
At least the gold is just not straight out of the pot.
