Is there a specific day for WM/H and is there a time for people trying to learn the game to come in?
WM/H is generally on Wednesday nights at Dragon's Lair (don't know about days at 10th Planet, I haven't played there in a long time). if you put a post in the pick-up games sub forum someone will probably be open other days too.
there isn't a specific time to come to learn, just show up Wednesday night and ask anyone for a demo game. or post in the forum asking to set something up to make sure you have someone planning to come and teach. there are a lot of newer players right now, so it's easier to find low point games.

I am at DL most weds nights by 8pm with all the main battle boxes and will be happy to walk through some demo games.
10th Planet is apparently Wednesdays and Saturdays as well. I'd definitely come in and grab some games with Cody no matter what location was better for you though, he really knows his stuff (and as mentioned has all the battleboxes if you're still undecided on a faction).
I'm just going to echo what's been said, show up at Dlair on a Wednesday night and tell the people playing that you're new. They should be able to point you to the right people.
I'll be at DL this Wednesday around 5PM-ish. Happy to get a game in with you.
