Just got some good news and wanted to share: I just got the notice that I passed my last two qualifying exams so I am officially a doctoral candidate. Now I 'just' need to write my dissertation proposal.
Anyway, sorry I had kinda dropped out of stuff the last few weeks. I wasn't feeling good about the exams so had been avoiding everything. This is such a huge relief.
Thanks to my friends here, just for being there.

Right now I am thinking a narrative/content analysis of the Common Core and Texas math standards, or related textbooks. Most of the people in my department tend to do some kind of qual/quant project involving classroom practices, but cutting out the need for participants would make life a lot easier and keep this on target to be finished within the year. Plus I find the philosophical questions more engaging generally.
