I'll try to post more events as I hear about them from the others here, but right now we're having a super-sized Wrath event on Saturday, 8/27 at Gunslinger Games here in Dallas for those willing to make the drive.
A couple of changes from the packet, but I listed it below. We are sort of limited with space, but the store shares space with VG Corp (the pod people) and they have agreed to open some of it up to us to fit a few more tables in. Right now I'm at 24 players, with space accomodating up to 40.
The store can be difficult to find, so shoot me a PM if you're intending to show so I can give you contact details and easier directions if you get lost.
Date: August 27th at Gunslinger Games (11110 Petal St, Dallas, TX - it's in the back of the complex, facing 635/train tracks)
Start/End: Noon until 7 PM, with last game starting at 6:30 PM (This may be extended to 9 PM based on the number of participants)
Entry Fee: $5
Rules
Each participant is required to register with a faction of their choice. This is an open play event based on Glorious Deeds scoring system. Participants are welcome to come and go as they please and there is not a max game limit. Players will create a 35 pt list each game within the faction they registered with and can change warcasters or warlocks from game to game.
Every game will be based on a single scenario, which I have dubbed No Machine's Land and the terrain will be fixed position. Each player receives 12 min timed turns. Points are scored based on a criteria and after each game concludes both players are required to come up to the event organizer (me in this case) and have me record your game. Players cannot play the same opponent twice in a row.
At the end of the event, I will tally up the Glorious Deeds points. The player with the most points wins the Championship Coin. Players with the most points from each Warmachine faction will win their respected Faction Coin. Please note that Hordes players are eligible for the Championship Coin only. There may be other prizes as well depending on the number of participants.
Glorious Deeds Points
Glorious Deeds will be checked off at the end of each game by me. There are two types of glorious deeds - Unlimited and Limited (one time scoring). Below is the scoring I will be using.
Unlimited
During the event, a player may be awarded each of the following Glorious Deeds multiple times.
■Each game finished - 1 pt
■First game played against each opponent - 1 pt
■First game finished against each faction - 1 pt
■Win a game - 1 pt
Limited
During the event, a player may be awarded each of the following Glorious Deeds only once during the event.
■Play a game with a fully painted army - 1 pt
■Bring a fully modeled HQ trench based on the scenario specifications - 2 pts
■Win with a caster/lock kill - 1 pt
■Win with a scenario victory - 1 pt
■Play with five different warcasters or a single warcaster five games in a row - 2 pts
■Play with only a battle group - 2 pts
■Play with a Tier 3 theme list - 1 pt
■Play with a Wrath warcaster - 1 pt
■Play with a battle engine (Cygnar, Cryx, Khador, & Retribution) or with a Wrath character Warjack (Menoth & Mercs) - 1 pt
■End a game with no friendly models on your half of the table - 1 pt
■End a game with no enemy models on your half of the table - 1 pt
Scenario - No Machine's Land
Each player begins with a 5"x8" command trench in the middle of his/her deployment zone, 5" from the rear edge table. There will be up to 20 3"x5" trench terrain features on the board and one to two other terrain features. Deployment is standard (First player 8", Second player 10"). A player wins the game at the end of any turn if he/she has more models completely in his opponent's command trench than his opponent has. Ignore fleeing models, out-of-formation models, inert warjacks, and wild warbeasts when counting models in a command trench. A player also wins the game if he has the only remaining warcaster in play.
