    Question TGC/WGC/40KC

    Three-ish months until WarGamesCon/TexasGamesCon/TXGamesCon/40KCon...

Any idea on what's happening for the non-40K crowd? We're in that smaller-ish room, so I assume space will be semi-limited. What events are lined up?

Seems the registrations just opened today. There are several of us Bryan/College Station folks wondering the same thing.

Yeah, looks like it'll be thrown together at the last minute.

Negative! I'm sending the event list in to Jon Wolf today. Should be up in a few days. The headliner events will be the first Iron Gauntlet qualifier of the 2014 season and the 50 point WMW Qualifier tournament!

Is IG the new Masters? Masters seems like second fiddle at L&L.

IG is the big fancy competitive format that Privateer Press is pushing, so at their convention it is going to be front and center. At other cons, the Masters event generally takes a bit more precedence than the IG qualifiers. IG seems to be picking up some steam in terms of support from the player base, so I think over the next year or two the two events will reach parity in terms of prestige and importance.

...so, two events for a three day convention? How many rounds will Iron Gauntlet run?

No - those are just the biggest events. There will be smaller tournaments in the evenings, plus Iron Arena running all weekend long. I think there will be 6ish events total, in addition to the Iron Arena open play.

IG will run however many rounds are required to determine a winner. Probably at least 5 rounds, with a chance of 6.

The $30 floor pass already gets me access to open gaming/Iron Arena. That really shouldn't be a "feature" unless you're offering prize support for it. Otherwise, it's a freebie. Please list the other four events. Before I drop $80, I'd like to know I'll be getting something worthwhile.

It's not Iron Arena without prize support.

The full list of events should be up in a few days on the website. I'll post back here when they are up.
