***Updated 6th Edition Pack for Dragon's Lair***Please review

    All,

I have updated the packet for review and feedback. Please check out the special rule and house rule section. Trying to streamline while not taking anything away from the book expect for logstical concerns.

    Dragon_Lair_mission_packet_T_Pack public version_update 7_18 before DL adds logo.pdf

Also pulling the band aid on one item and want to see what peoples reactions are.

After reading this I have decided that the movie "Pineaple Express" should redo one of its quotes from:

"But if you do something heroic then you'll come back as like an eagle or a dragon, or Jude Law."

    To:

"But if you do something heroic then you'll come back as like an eagle or a dragon, or Nick Rose."

I have a real issue with allowing Forge World while banning the Skypad and Fortress.

I rather than re-roll a psychic power they already have the ability to swap for the base power. There is already an out. Leave it at that.

There may be more coming...I'm still reading.

Broodlords don't have an out and their might be others. The book has already a precedent with if you can't cast the power because its level 2 reroll. If your BS0 you can't pick a base power because you can't use it since its a shooting power. Remember BS 0 models can not use shooting powers.

Forgeworld doesn't have any huge units like the Skypad and Fortress that take a quarter of the table and extend outside their deployment zones.

    ftfy.

Also, for the psychic powers, allow them to swap to the primis, and if they can use it, re-roll. You roll a crap power the first time, tough, the warp is fickle.
with 40k its best to get the rules straight then apply imagination and rationalize; you will only get annoyed doing it the other way round

Individual units that may have multiple rules versions will follow the rules presented in that army's codex. This means a Black Templar Land Raider will function differently than a standard Space Marine Land Raider for example. Please take the time to review the FAQ's for clarifications.
Is this even true anymore? I think the latest FAQs got them all sorted out (sorry, no more magic BT smoke launchers).

Special/Unique/Named Characters may be fielded unless their rules would not allow them in a 2000 point army.
So it is 1850, but the SC limit is for 2000? Does that mean I can have a third HQ special character because that would be allowed in 2000?

    How does this:

Forge World/Imperial Armor rules will be allowed only if they have the Warhammer 40,000 Approved logo for the unit. Rules must be onsite to be presented to the player and clearly explained what the rules are to the player.
    ... interact with this?

You must provide access to your own rules (which include the actual Codex used for your army)
Does that mean you have to have the hard cover FW book to use FW?

A separate printed army list is required for the judges and each of your opponents. (4 total copies).
Haven't we killed enough trees? 2 Copies: one to use during games, one to give to the judges.

Finally, a monthly painting contest (sarcasm).

Aside from all the spelling errors that made my eyes bleed, I have the following:

Maybe get a bit more specific on the extra reroll for psychic stuff (maybe out and out say that a BS 0 model that rolls a witchfire power may reroll until they get a non-witchfire power)

I'm fine with the skyshield and fortress being out of the game, but requiring the exact GW model for the other fortifications is kinda lame, when you take into account that anyone can take a fortification, but that an imperial fort does not look good with a DE army. Maybe change that to "comparably sized to the GW model" and actually enforce it.

    Just some ideas.

I think the FAQ did get them sorted but I am sure there is something that they missed or that I missed. I kept that as a fallback just incase...

No, this is mainly for the older codexs that had the point limit on use of special characters such as Grimaldus from Black Templar who can only be used if the force is 1500 points or higher. Not that you can use a thrid HQ because you can leverage a FOC chart. I will clean that section up.

I will have to see how everyone else views this. I would just want the rules on site and since the store doesn't make money from Forgeworld hardbacks I am not worried where the rules come from as long as you have them. The Codex which are the main part of the army should be an actual book for a player to read. We are also going have to think about GW digital products as they come out now.

I'd be ok with scratch built forts with the exact footprint of GW's, to include Height.

I'm all for requiring people to have the FW hardcover if you want to play but I suspect we'd be ok with copies given the pita carrying them around would be.

Yeah, don't force exactly GW fortresses! I'm planning on using my FW Spore Chimney as a 'counts-as' Bastion!
And niddy 'Aegis defense lines' too.
